The main purpose of the initiative is to promote new and creative ideas on how to deal with problems affecting young people such as lack of participation in society, social exclusion and so on. This is done through organising bi-annual Forums (in winter and summer) where members of youth NGOs come together to discuss a particular topic. The Forums take place in various forms - discussions, workshops, group or individual work, forum theatre, and other creative methods of non-formal education. In this way, young people are given different possibilities to work in a creative way and stimulate innovative thinking. Usually, the main outcomes are the generation of new ideas to deal with particular topics or problems. Next step for the Lithuanian Youth Council is to use those ideas in everyday work and create new possibilities for young people and youth NGOs. Further communication of the results depends on the topic of the Forum. In Lithuania, this is the only possibility for youth organisations’ members to come together and discuss current issues, share experiences, and create ideas which could later be implemented in their organisations.
