ARTESNET Europe Thematic Network for Higher Arts Education in Europe

The creative partnership network ‘artesnet Europe’ sees itself as a Europe-wide ‘community of practice’, connecting practitioners from the creative/cultural sector, teaching staff from art schools, educators, and artistic researchers from almost all EU-countries, Iceland, Norway, and Turkey. It pilots and collects best practice of artistic and creative partnerships between art schools, non-formal education and local communities. Building on successful results achieved in a previous project, the Network structures its work in three strands: creative partnerships, qualifications frameworks, and joint research and Masters’ programmes.

"Polifonia" erasmus Network for Music

Until recently, the European dimension of the Higher Music Education sector was limited. With the aim to address this situation, music entered the Erasmus Network system as an individual discipline for the first time in 2004 with the ‘Polifonia’ Network. This second cycle of ‘Polifonia’ builds on many successful outcomes of the first period, but also explores new issues in the following 3 strands:

- The ‘EHEA’ Strand: activities that aim at the implementation, monitoring and further development of tools related to recognition, comparability and quality assurance.

- The ‘Lisbon’ Strand: activities addressing issues related to the ‘Education & Training 2010’ Agenda.

- The ‘Research’ Strand: study the role of research in higher music education and its contribution to the quality of teaching and learning.

Virtual Campus for Digital Students

DELLIISS - Designing Lifelong Learning for Innovation in Information Services Science

“Services science” is an emerging scientific discipline, it supports innovation in the services economy. The need for a new professional job profile has been identified, of an engineer dealing with the innovation, design and engineering of new information services. It is associated with individuals that have an entrepreneurship profile and a strong professional background from business and/or ICT and therefore it demands a lifelong learning approach. The project aims at developing the required LL components and integrate them in the evolution of existing related LL activities.

ETN Teaching, Research, Innovation in Computing Education

The project tries to establish links between training, research and innovation by means of introducing advanced educational programmes in computing education (CE).

The project consortium has successfully implemented and completed two thematic networks: ECET and DEC. As a result, comparable professional standards, curricula and syllabi of the three educational degrees have been developed. To close the whole cycle we must try to interlink teaching, research and innovations in the field of CE and training.

Lifelong learning network for sustainable development

In response the importance of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is widely accepted, as is the need for lifelong learning, emphasized in Agenda 21 and integrated in a number of international declarations. Three main challenges can be identified to address global learning needs a) self-directed learning possibilities for competence development, b) transdisciplinary settings to make knowledge effective in real-life situations and c) crossing borders of academic vs. non academic learning towards a holistic approach to lifelong learning.

IPLECS-Internet-based Performance-centred Learning Environment for Curriculum Support

This project answers to the need of development of a complete master degree program at the point of intersection between information technology and communications. The innovative performance-centred approach has been developed, tested and implemented and our partnership experience returned strong positive results - it has been proven to be more effective than the traditional lecture-practice-test (expository inductive) in training higher order skills, for preparing learners for self-learning, improving and adapting for changing jobs.

BINNOC - Building innovation capability in European business organisations through university - enterprise co-operation

The main aim of the project is to design a work methodology within higher education institutions and companies which allows the diagnosis of the innovation capability of companies (especially SMEs) and to propose a series of actions (training modules) which respond to the needs identified. By means of active co-operation between universities and enterprises, innovation will be introduced in all spheres of action of companies as a competitiveness improvement tool.

FEPIC - Female Engineers Pushing Innovation in Companies

This project is focused on female students with a scientific-engineering background to teach them creativity for innovation and leadership.
