The Launch Conference of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation was hosted in the Czech Senate and it addressed the potential for creativity and innovation in trade, industry, education, science and culture. Keynote speakers included the Ján Figel', European Commissioner for Education, Training, Culture and Youth, Ondřej Liška, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, Václav Jehlička, Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic and ambassadors for the European Year 2009.
