As proposed by President Luc Van den Brande, the Committe of the Regions (CoR) will host a conference on 21 and 22 April 2009 showcasing innovative ideas and best practices from Europe's vibrant regions and cities and highlight the role of creativity and innovation for resilient economic development. The conference, to be held in parallel with the CoR Plenary Session will focus on two main themes: it is intended to create a platform for the exchange of ideas and best practices among regions, cities and experts for promoting creativity and innovation and to exhibit examples in various sectors.

The CoR and the European Commission will invite "100 young creative talents from all over Europe" to Brussels. Young entrepreneurs, artists, architects, designers, film directors or other creative talents will come together and share ideas and visions which should lead to creative collaborations across cultures and borders.
