Creativity and innovation are undoubtedly part of the resources that both nations and the global community need to harness, in order to get through the current global economic and social crisis. Dialogue about Innovation and Creativity in the Hands of the Young and practical examples of the use of innovative and creative talent depicted in the conference will feed into current debate and contribute to find solutions, alleviations of current crisis and further develpments in the field.
The Conference is a joint Nordic involvement in the European Year of Innovation and Creativity 2009 (EYIC 2009), where the Nordic nations will celebrate the creative and innovative achievements of Nordic Youth with the rest of the world. The concept of the Conference is built on the Icelandic Sector programme for the Nordic Council of Ministers for 2009 within research, culture and education, that focuses on education, creativity and entrepreneurship in the time of globalisation.
Linking young Nordic talent, giving them the opportunity to share their experience of innovative projects will give an interesting overview of the infrastructures and their functions on a national level and even Nordic or European level. This will also allow for academic discussion and involvement at a considerable high level at an unconventional conference.
The three day conference will attract both academic dialogue and practical perspectives on the links and relations between education and the world of work within different theoretical paradigms. Papers on aspects on everything from art education and design, entrepreneurial mindsets and policy development will be welcomed.
Call for papers will open in the beginning of April and will be open till 1.July. Registration will be opened in May and draft agenda will be published at the same time. Final programme will be ready in October. The conference language will be English.
