GAUDEAMUS International Book and Education Fair (GAUDEAMUS) is a complex cultural project initiated by Radio Romania (The Romanian Broadcasting Radio Corporation) in 1994. GAUDEAMUS aims to foster and support the Romanian written culture, in being dedicated to both books and education. GAUDEAMUS, one of the few Romanian cultural programs to be permanently growing, is mentioned in the Law for the Promotion of Written Culture no. 186 from 2003 as „an event of national importance”. Since 2001 GAUDEAMUS is mentioned in the Frankfurt International Calendar of Book Fairs. Specialized sections : (1)The 16th International Book Fair; (2) The12th Education Salon – hosts high education institutions and formative organizations specialized in educational offer; (3)The 8th National Salon for Youth Design and Inventions – exhibits youth inventions and ideas in sciences and technology; (4) The 6th “Ion Creanga” Salon of Books for Children– hosts children books publishers and illustrators; (5) The Contact Desk – an innovative setting for communication among professionals.
