18.11.09 – 12.12.2009
Italian Cultural Institute of Berlin and “Friedrich-Schiller-Universität” of Jena

Venue: Ernst-Haeckel-Haus”, Berggasse 7 JENA

Description:

Luigi Paolucci (1849-1935), a scientist from Ancona, was one of the many scholars active in the region who – after the Unification of Italy – helped to promote the knowledge of the natural sciences world in Italy as well as to the popularization of science among the young generations. The exhibit will display Paolucci’s activities and the specificity of the natural environment of Marche Region thanks to finds made available by the “Paolucci Natural Sciences Museum” of Offagna (Ancona). This initiative has been made possible thanks to the cooperation of the Institute of History of Science of Jena University - named after the zoologist Ernst Haeckel (1834-1919) - the Institute of Romanistic Studies and the museum network of the Province of Ancona (which includes “Paolucci Museum”).
