The Creativity World Forum is the annual core event of the “Districts of Creativity”, a 2004 established global network of creative and innovative regions from Belgium (Flanders), Germany (Baden-Württemberg), France (Rhone-Alpes and North Pas des Calais), Italy (Lombardy) Spain (Catalonia), Scotland, Finland (Tampere), USA (Oklahoma), Canada (Quebec), India (Karnataka) and China (Shanghai and Qingdao).

The event is a platform for the exchange of best practice and experiences by international and regional initiatives and experts. The goal is to promote and foster creativity , innovation, entrepreneurship and internationalization.

This year the main focus lies on “Creative Industries”. It is connected with:

- international matchmaking and networking events

- and development of international cooperations and projects.

Topics of the year 2009 are:

• Regional and international initiatives for the promotion of „Creative Industries and Creativity“

• The role of “Creative Industries” as a driving force for innovation • Innovation policies

• Attractiveness of regions for the Creative Class
